"Lilies" is so close to me because of the clear naivety in its original arrangement, and because of the simplification to a life lesson that is made complicated with age, but is so readily experienced throughout our lives. In the past four years, this song has been sung sweetly and angrily. It has been passive and passionate.
I hope this new version is a testament to how we change in our adulthood transitions and if we choose to nurture the wisdom that lives in us from childhood.
